Art, in its many forms, empowers. It gives the community its own distinct identity, instills civic pride, entrenches culture, and plays a key role in economic vitality. It unites us, and reflects society’s values along with our sense of self in the world that surrounds us.
Utica Monday Nite founder Lynne Mishalanie had that same vision in the late 1990s when she established what would evolve into one of Utica’s most popular and memorable cultural events. Her original ambition and determination in support of the local arts continues today, as UMN For the Arts remains committed to actively advocating for artists and the meaningful contributions they make to our quality of life.
Join us in our mission to recognize and celebrate the power of art in building community and creating an environment that enriches our lives aesthetically, economically, and culturally.
