UTICA — Emerging artists and creatives interested in establishing an arts-related business are invited to apply for enrollment in a free, innovative refinery program developed by Utica Monday Nite in partnership with Mohawk Valley Community College and ThINCubator.

The Artist Refinery Program is an intensive eight-week summer course offering the basics of a business start-up, including an entrepreneurial curriculum, guest speakers, and weekly deliverables from participants, who will exit the program with a robust set of skills and knowledge to develop and monetize their creative business.

The eight-week summer session for emerging artists begins May 25. A session for established artists is planned for the fall.

An application and a short video explaining the details of the program are accessible online at www.thincubator.co/artist-refinery

MVCC will provide a portion of the program funding as well as the use of the ThINCubator facility for holding in-person classes. Utica Monday Nite has applied for several grants to fund the balance.
